Translator Task 1

Translator. (Juan Francisco) As I am the translator of the group this week I’m going to talk and explain some main concepts that we have considered the most difficult.


MIND MAP: At first of the work we had to decide which type of map were going to use, so we were watching and saw this map, that basically is a diagram where there is an important idea in the center of the map and the rest “goes around” this idea, I mean that there are for example some factors, secondary ideas, concepts that can complete the general idea and that make it easier to understand. But this diagram is not make randomly, it has logic in the way it’s done. This kind of maps can help us in the way to complete better a task or simply to understand better the concept.

The second concept is TPACK: As we saw many times in the last activity in the class, TPACK is an acronym of the words Technology, Pedagogy and content of knowledge. It is an aspect that affects (is viewed from a positive point) to the education, and it is very important for us. We need to say that exists some relationships such us between technology and content; in the way to improve the contents (social science, mathematics) and also could affect in the way to teach. Another relation is between Technology and pedagogy , that affects in good way to the children because it seems what problems has the children, etc. And last the one between pedagogy and content.

The third one is knowledge; well, this is a concept that probably most of you know, but we have decided to take this concept to specify that knowledge, in this context refers to that who people knows but maybe they don’t know how to explain. It is very useful to connect technology, pedagogy and content in a educational point of view.

Framework. This work, basically is defined as a combination of concepts, practices and criteria with the intention of approach a problem. Like we are treating about school academy and concepts with are involved in education this concept is very important for us. We use it to determine the TPACK acronyms and to try to see which is the relationship between those concepts. Another aspect that we can underline is that the concepts that we have just named are together in the way they are explained for a better comprehension for the education of the children. In addition, we can say that this concepts (each one) contribute to the education in a big way; we improve our abilities with the components of TPACK.

Pedagogical Content Knowledge. We have choose this combination concept because, at first, we had several doubts about the combination of concepts. It is defined as the way the teachers can improve the way to teach, in different methods, depending of the students, and also how to face to different children. For example if in a class there are 30 children, maybe there will be some children that will have facilitates and another that will have problems so the intention of this knowledge is to know how to fight again this problems.
